Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, Torx screwdriver (T20), clean cloth or vacuum.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the ignition off.
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been in use.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and remove all contents.
  2. Locate the two stop arms on either side of the glove compartment.
  3. Gently squeeze the sides of the glove compartment inward to disengage the stop arms, allowing the glove compartment to drop down fully.
  4. Locate the cabin air filter cover, which is usually secured with screws or clips.
  5. Use a Torx screwdriver to remove the screws or gently pull off the clips.
3. Remove and Replace the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Carefully pull out the old cabin air filter from its housing. Take note of its orientation (which side is up).
  2. Inspect the filter slot for any debris or dirt and clean it with a cloth or vacuum.
  3. Insert the new cabin air filter into the housing, ensuring it is oriented correctly as per the indicators on the filter or housing.
  4. Reattach the cabin air filter cover by securing it with screws or clips.
4. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Lift the glove compartment back into position and squeeze the sides to re-engage the stop arms.
  2. Replace all contents in the glove compartment.
  3. Close the glove compartment securely.
