Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is in park and the ignition is off.
  • Make sure the battery has sufficient charge to perform a reset.
2. Perform a Soft Reset
  1. Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  2. Press and hold both scroll wheels on the steering wheel simultaneously for about 10 seconds.
  3. Release the scroll wheels when the touchscreen turns black, and the Tesla logo appears.
  4. Wait for the system to reboot, which may take a few minutes.
3. Perform a Hard Reset (if necessary)
  1. If the soft reset does not resolve the issue, perform a hard reset by disconnecting the 12V battery.
  2. Open the front trunk and locate the 12V battery.
  3. Disconnect the negative terminal (black) using a socket wrench.
  4. Wait for at least 5 minutes before reconnecting the negative terminal.
  5. Ensure all connections are secure and close the front trunk.
4. Check for Updates
  1. After the reset, navigate to the "Software" menu on the touchscreen.
  2. Check for any pending software updates and initiate if available.
  3. Connect to a strong Wi-Fi network to ensure a stable download.
