Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver or plastic trim removal tool, new cabin air filter
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe location with the engine off.
  • Gather the new cabin air filter. Compatible filters can be sourced from Tesla or aftermarket suppliers.
2. Remove the Glove Compartment
  • Locate the glove compartment and open it fully.
  • Using a flathead screwdriver or plastic trim removal tool, gently pry off the dampener arm from the right side of the glove compartment.
  • Squeeze the sides of the glove compartment inward to release the stops and remove it from the dashboard.
3. Access the Cabin Air Filter Housing
  • With the glove compartment removed, locate the cabin air filter housing cover on the right side.
  • Release the clips or screws securing the filter housing cover and carefully remove it.
4. Replace the Cabin Air Filter
  • Take out the old cabin air filter from the housing. Pay attention to the orientation of the filter (there should be arrows indicating airflow direction).
  • Insert the new cabin air filter ensuring the airflow arrows are pointing in the correct direction.
  • Reattach the cabin air filter housing cover by securing it with the clips or screws removed earlier.
5. Reinstall the Glove Compartment
  • Align the glove compartment back into position and squeeze the sides to snap it back into place.
  • Reattach the dampener arm on the right side of the glove compartment.
