Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, transmission fluid level gauge, multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool. Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Drain Transmission Fluid
  • Locate the transmission fluid drain plug.
  • Using a socket set, remove the drain plug and allow fluid to completely drain into a suitable container.
  • Replace the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
3. Replace Torque Converter
  • Access the Torque Converter:
    • Remove the transmission from the vehicle by unbolting it from the engine and disconnecting the necessary wiring and hoses.
  • Remove the Old Torque Converter:
    • Unbolt the torque converter from the flexplate.
    • Carefully pull the torque converter out of the transmission.
4. Install New Torque Converter
  • Install New Torque Converter:
    • Position the new torque converter in place, ensuring it is seated correctly.
    • Bolt the torque converter to the flexplate and torque to the specifications provided by the manufacturer.
5. Reassemble and Refill Transmission Fluid
  • Reinstall the transmission, reattach all wiring and hoses, and ensure all connections are secure.
  • Refill the transmission with the appropriate fluid type as specified in the vehicle's owner manual.
  • Disconnect the battery and reconnect it.
