Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, torque wrench, impact wrench (if necessary), strut spring compressor.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Using the jack, lift the vehicle to access the struts.
  • Place jack stands under the vehicle for safety.
3. Remove Wheels
  • Use a lug wrench to remove the lug nuts and take off the front and rear wheels.
4. Remove Struts
  • Front Struts:

    1. Disconnect any electrical connectors from the struts, if applicable.
    2. Remove the bolts securing the strut to the steering knuckle using a socket and ratchet.
    3. Unscrew the top strut mount bolts located under the hood (may require removal of the engine cover).
    4. Carefully remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
  • Rear Struts:

    1. Remove the bolts securing the lower end of the strut to the rear axle.
    2. Unscrew the top strut mount bolts within the trunk area.
    3. Extract the strut from the vehicle.
5. Install New Struts
  • Front Struts:

    1. Insert the new strut into the mounting location and secure it with the top mount bolts.
    2. Attach the strut to the steering knuckle and tighten bolts to manufacturer specifications.
  • Rear Struts:

    1. Position the new strut in place and secure it to the rear axle.
    2. Fasten the top mount bolts in the trunk area.
6. Reassemble and Check
  • Reattach the wheels and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and perform a final check on all fasteners.
