Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the vehicle's high-voltage battery for safety.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: AC manifold gauge set, refrigerant canister, hose with a piercing valve.
  • Connect the low-pressure side of the AC gauge to the low-pressure service port.
  • If the refrigerant level is low, follow the refrigerant canister instructions to add the appropriate type (R134a or R1234yf).
  • Monitor the pressure gauge while refilling to ensure it reaches the manufacturer's specifications.
3. Inspect and Replace AC Compressor
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench.
  • Locate the AC compressor, usually mounted near the front of the engine bay.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the drive belt.
  • Unbolt the compressor from its mount and remove it from the vehicle.
  • Install the new compressor, torque bolts to manufacturer specifications, and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Check and Clean Condenser
  • Tools Required: Soft brush, hose or pressurized air.
  • Inspect the AC condenser for dirt, debris, or bent fins.
  • Clean the condenser with a soft brush and rinse with water or use compressed air to remove debris.
5. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: None.
  • Locate the cabin air filter, typically behind the glove compartment.
  • Remove the glove compartment to access the filter.
  • Pull out the old filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
