Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is in "Park" and that all electrical accessories are turned off.
  • Gather necessary tools and replacement parts.
2. Inspect and Test the 12V Battery
  • Tools Required: Multimeter, wrench set
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the 12V battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the 12V battery. It should read above 12.4 volts.
  • If the voltage is low, consider replacing the battery.
  • Reconnect the negative terminal securely.
3. Jump-Start the Vehicle
  • Tools Required: Jumper cables
  • Connect the jumper cables to a functioning vehicle's battery.
  • Attach the positive (red) cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
  • Attach the negative (black) cable to a metal ground on the vehicle with the dead battery.
  • Start the functioning vehicle, then attempt to start the Tesla.
  • Once started, allow the vehicle to run for at least 30 minutes to recharge the 12V battery.
4. Check Main Battery Pack
  • If the vehicle still does not start, check the main battery pack's status via the vehicle’s diagnostic menu.
  • Ensure that there are no alerts indicating issues with the battery management system.
