Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and equipment.
  • Ensure you have a working set of jumper cables and access to another vehicle with a functional battery.
  • Safety Warning: Ensure both vehicles are turned off before connecting cables.
2. Jump-Start the Vehicle
  1. Connect Jumper Cables:

    • Attach the red jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
    • Connect the other end of the red cable to the positive terminal of the working battery.
    • Attach the black jumper cable to the negative terminal of the working battery.
    • Connect the other end of the black cable to an unpainted metal ground point on the Tesla (not the negative terminal of the dead battery).
  2. Start the Donor Vehicle:

    • Start the vehicle providing the jump and let it run for a few minutes.
  3. Attempt to Start the Tesla:

    • Try to start the Tesla Model 3. If it starts, let it run for a while to charge the battery.
  4. Disconnect Cables:

    • Remove the cables in the reverse order of connection: black cable from the ground, black cable from the donor battery, red cable from the donor battery, and finally the red cable from the Tesla.
3. Replace the 12V Battery (if necessary)
  1. Remove the Frunk Lid:

    • Open the frunk and locate the 12V battery compartment.
    • Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the frunk lid if needed.
  2. Disconnect the Old Battery:

    • Remove the negative (black) terminal first, followed by the positive (red) terminal.
  3. Install the New Battery:

    • Place the new 12V battery into the compartment and connect the positive (red) terminal first, followed by the negative (black) terminal.
    • Ensure terminals are tight and secure.
  4. Reassemble the Frunk:

    • Reattach any components or covers removed during the process.
