Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools needed: a multimeter and a replacement 12V battery (if necessary).
  • Ensure you are in a well-ventilated area and have access to a power source for charging.
2. Check and Replace the 12V Battery
  1. Access the 12V Battery
    • Open the front trunk (frunk) to access the 12V battery located on the driver's side.
  2. Test the Battery Voltage
    • Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the 12V battery.
    • If the voltage is below 12.4V, consider replacing the battery.
  3. Disconnect the Battery
    • Use a socket wrench to remove the negative (-) terminal first, followed by the positive (+) terminal.
    • Ensure no tools are left on or around the battery area.
  4. Replace with New Battery
    • Install the new 12V battery by connecting the positive (+) terminal first, followed by the negative (-) terminal.
    • Tighten the terminals securely to avoid any loose connections.
3. Key Fob Battery Replacement
  1. Remove the Key Fob Cover
    • Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the key fob.
  2. Replace the Battery
    • Remove the old battery and insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side is facing up.
  3. Reassemble the Key Fob
    • Snap the key fob back together securely.
4. Software Reset
  1. Perform a Soft Reset
    • While seated in the vehicle, press and hold both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the screen turns off and back on.
    • Wait for the system to reboot and check for functionality.
