Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather Tools: You will need a smartphone with the Tesla app installed and access to the vehicle.
  • Ensure Vehicle is Parked: Park the vehicle in a safe location with sufficient space around it.
2. Power Off the Vehicle
  • Open the Tesla app and navigate to the 'Controls' section.
  • Select 'Safety' and then tap on 'Power Off'.
  • Wait for at least 2-3 minutes to allow the vehicle systems to fully shut down.
3. Reset the BMS
  • After the vehicle is powered off, press and hold the brake pedal.
  • While holding the brake, press and hold the steering wheel's scroll wheel buttons until the screen turns black and the Tesla logo appears (this may take about 10-15 seconds).
  • Release the brake pedal and scroll wheel buttons.
4. Power On the Vehicle
  • Once the logo appears, the vehicle will automatically reboot. Wait for the system to restart completely.
  • Check the vehicle display for any alerts or notifications regarding the battery.
5. Conduct a Battery Calibration (Optional)
  • If necessary, fully charge the vehicle to 100% and then drive until the battery reaches approximately 10% charge. This helps recalibrate the battery management system.
