Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure that the vehicle is parked safely and that the key fob or phone is present.
  • Make sure the vehicle's software is up to date by checking through the settings on the touchscreen.
2. Soft Reset the Touchscreen
  1. Sit in the driver's seat and ensure the vehicle is in 'Park.'
  2. Locate the two scroll wheels on the steering wheel.
  3. Press and hold both scroll wheels simultaneously.
  4. Continue to hold until the touchscreen turns black and the Tesla logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
  5. Release the scroll wheels and wait for the system to reboot.
3. Hard Reset (if necessary)
  1. If the soft reset does not resolve the issue, perform a hard reset by powering down the vehicle.
  2. Tap 'Controls' on the touchscreen.
  3. Go to 'Safety & Security.'
  4. Select 'Power Off' and confirm.
  5. Wait for at least 2-3 minutes without interacting with the vehicle (do not open doors or press pedals).
  6. After the wait, press the brake pedal to wake the vehicle.
