Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: None specifically, but access to the Tesla app is useful.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and that the key fob is present.
2. Check Key Fob
  • Remove the back cover of the key fob and replace the battery if necessary. Use a CR2032 battery.
  • Test the key fob by attempting to unlock and lock the vehicle; if it fails, the fob may need replacement.
3. Inspect 12V Battery
  • Open the frunk (front trunk) and locate the 12V battery.
  • Check the battery terminals for corrosion. If found, clean the terminals with a wire brush and reconnect.
  • Use a multimeter to check the voltage of the 12V battery; it should be at least 12.4 volts. If it’s below this, consider replacing the battery.
4. Reset the Vehicle
  • With the car in park, press and hold down the brake pedal.
  • Press both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the screen turns off and then back on.
  • Wait for the vehicle to reboot and attempt to start again.
5. Charging the Main Battery
  • If the main battery is low, connect the vehicle to a charging station or wall connector.
  • Allow the vehicle to charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to start again.
