Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: smartphone (for app access), and a small flathead screwdriver (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location for testing.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use a small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob.
  2. Remove the old battery (typically a CR2032).
  3. Insert a new battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  4. Snap the key fob back together.
3. Update Vehicle Software
  1. Go to the vehicle settings on the touchscreen.
  2. Navigate to "Software" and check for any available updates.
  3. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the update process.
  4. Ensure the vehicle is connected to Wi-Fi during the update.
4. Reset Touchscreen
  1. With the vehicle in park, press and hold both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the touchscreen turns off and the Tesla logo appears.
  2. Release the scroll wheels and allow the system to reboot.
  3. Test the unlocking functionality after the reboot.
5. Check Door Handle Functionality
  1. Inspect the door handles for any visible damage or obstruction.
  2. If handles are not extending when touched, manually pull the handle to see if it engages.
  3. If there is physical obstruction, remove it and test again.
