Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, torque wrench, bearing puller, socket set, grease, and new wheel bearings.
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands. Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface.
2. Remove Wheel
  • Loosen the lug nuts using a lug wrench.
  • Remove the wheel completely and set it aside.
3. Remove Brake Components
  • Remove the brake caliper by unbolting it from the bracket.
  • Secure the caliper using a wire or bungee cord to avoid stress on the brake line.
  • Remove the brake rotor by sliding it off the hub.
4. Extract Wheel Bearing
  • Remove any retaining clips or dust caps that may be present.
  • Use a bearing puller to extract the wheel bearing from the hub assembly. Ensure to apply even force to avoid damage.
  • Clean the hub area with brake cleaner to remove debris and contaminants.
5. Install New Wheel Bearing
  • Apply a thin layer of grease to the interior of the hub.
  • Press the new wheel bearing into place using a suitable tool, ensuring it is seated fully.
  • Reinstall any retaining clips or dust caps that were removed.
6. Reassemble Components
  • Reattach the brake rotor onto the hub.
  • Reinstall the brake caliper and secure it with the original bolts, tightening to factory torque specifications.
  • Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
7. Lower Vehicle
  • Lower the vehicle off the jack stands using the jack.
  • Once on the ground, torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer-recommended specifications.
