Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Inspect and Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, microfiber cloth, socket set
  • Remove the air intake hose connected to the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner inside the throttle body while opening the throttle plate manually.
  • Wipe clean with a microfiber cloth to remove carbon deposits.
  • Reattach the air intake hose securely.
3. Replace Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, dielectric grease
  • Disconnect the ignition coil connectors and remove the bolts securing the coils.
  • Pull out the old spark plugs using a spark plug socket.
  • Install new spark plugs, ensuring they are gapped correctly (usually 0.028-0.032 inches).
  • Apply dielectric grease to the ignition coil connectors and reinstall them, torquing to the manufacturer’s specifications.
4. Clean or Replace the Idle Air Control Valve
  • Tools Required: Socket set, cleaner, gasket set (if replacing)
  • Remove the IAC valve from the intake manifold.
  • Clean the IAC valve using an appropriate cleaner or replace it if damaged.
  • Reinstall the IAC valve with a new gasket if needed.
5. Test and Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the battery and start the engine.
  • Let the engine idle and observe for any irregularities.
