Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, basic hand tools (socket set, wrenches), brake cleaner, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock and accidental activation of the ABS system.
2. Replace Faulty ABS Wheel Speed Sensor
  • Locate the ABS wheel speed sensor on the affected wheel.
  • Remove the sensor mounting bolt with the appropriate socket.
  • Carefully pull the sensor out of its housing; clean the mounting area with brake cleaner.
  • Install the new ABS wheel speed sensor by reversing the removal process. Ensure it is seated correctly and tighten the mounting bolt to the manufacturer's specified torque.
3. Repair or Replace ABS Control Module
  • If the ABS control module is faulty, locate the module (usually near the master cylinder).
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the module.
  • Remove the mounting bolts using the appropriate tools.
  • Install the new ABS control module by reversing the removal process. Reconnect the wiring harness securely.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Using a brake bleeder kit, bleed the brake system to remove any air that may have entered during repairs. Start from the wheel furthest from the master cylinder and work your way to the closest.
  • Ensure the brake fluid level is topped off during this process.
