Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: a small flathead screwdriver or coin, and a new CR2032 battery.
  • Ensure a clean workspace to avoid losing small components.
2. Open Key Fob
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver or a coin to gently pry open the key fob at the seam. Start at one end and work your way around to avoid damaging the casing.
  • Carefully separate the two halves of the fob to access the internal components.
3. Remove Old Battery
  • Locate the battery within the key fob. Note the orientation of the battery (positive side up).
  • Gently slide the old battery out of its compartment using your fingers or the screwdriver.
4. Install New Battery
  • Take the new CR2032 battery and insert it into the compartment, ensuring the positive side is facing the same direction as the old battery.
  • Press down gently to ensure it is seated properly.
5. Reassemble Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing together.
  • Press firmly around the edges to snap the fob back into place, ensuring it is completely closed.
6. Test Key Fob
  • Stand near the vehicle and press the buttons on the key fob to confirm it is working correctly.
  • If the fob does not respond, double-check the battery orientation and connections.
