Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is turned off.
  • Open the glove box and remove all contents.
2. Access Cabin Air Filter
  • Locate the two stops on either side of the glove box. Squeeze the sides inward to release the stops and allow the glove box to drop down.
  • Look for the cabin air filter access panel, usually found behind the glove box. It may have clips or screws securing it.
3. Remove Old Cabin Air Filter
  • If there are screws, use a screwdriver to remove them. Otherwise, gently pull the clips to release the access panel.
  • Once the panel is removed, slide the old cabin air filter out carefully to avoid spilling debris.
4. Install New Cabin Air Filter
  • Take the new cabin air filter and align it according to the airflow direction indicated on the filter (usually an arrow).
  • Slide the new filter into the compartment, ensuring it fits snugly.
5. Reassemble Components
  • Reattach the cabin air filter access panel by securing any clips or screws.
  • Raise the glove box back into position and reinsert the stops to secure it.
6. Final Check
  • Ensure all tools and debris are removed from the glove box area.
  • Close the glove box and turn on the vehicle to test the airflow from the HVAC system.
