Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Inspect Power Steering Fluid
  • Remove the power steering fluid reservoir cap.
  • Check the fluid level; if low, top up with the manufacturer-recommended fluid.
  • If the fluid appears dirty or contaminated, proceed to replace it.
3. Replace Worn Steering Components
  • If any components show signs of wear or damage, such as tie rods or ball joints, replace them:
    • Tie Rods Replacement:
      • Loosen the lug nuts and raise the vehicle.
      • Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod.
      • Use a tie rod puller to separate the tie rod from the steering knuckle.
      • Install the new tie rod and tighten to manufacturer specifications.
    • Ball Joints Replacement:
      • Remove the wheel and brake caliper if necessary.
      • Remove the retaining bolts for the ball joint and press it out using a ball joint separator.
      • Install the new ball joint and secure it with the proper torque.
4. Inspect and Replace CV Joints if Necessary
  • Inspect the CV joints for tears or leaks in the protective boot.
  • If damaged, replace the affected CV joint:
    • Remove the wheel and disconnect the axle from the hub.
    • Use a CV joint puller to separate the joint from the axle.
    • Install the new CV joint and reassemble the hub and wheel.
5. Check and Replace Wheel Bearings
  • With the wheel removed, check for any play in the wheel bearings by trying to move the wheel side-to-side.
  • If play is detected, replace the wheel bearings:
    • Remove the hub assembly to access the bearings.
    • Use a bearing puller to remove old bearings.
    • Install new bearings and reassemble the hub.
