Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: brake fluid, wrench set, brake line flare tool, socket set, and safety glasses.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues.
2. Check and Refill Brake Fluid
  • Open the brake fluid reservoir cap.
  • Inspect the fluid level; if low, top off with the manufacturer-recommended brake fluid.
  • Replace the cap securely and ensure no spills occur.
3. Inspect and Repair Leaks
  • Visually inspect all brake lines and fittings for leaks.
  • If a leak is found in the brake line:
    • Use the wrench to loosen the affected connection.
    • Replace the damaged section of the line with a new one.
    • Flare the ends of the new line and connect it securely.
  • If the master cylinder is leaking, replace it:
    • Remove the brake lines from the master cylinder.
    • Unbolt the master cylinder from the brake booster.
    • Install the new master cylinder and reconnect the lines.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • Start at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (usually the rear passenger side):
    • Attach a brake bleeder kit and open the bleeder valve.
    • Pump the brake pedal until fluid flows without air bubbles, then close the valve.
  • Repeat for each wheel in the order: rear passenger, rear driver, front passenger, front driver.
  • Check and top off the brake fluid level in the reservoir after bleeding.
5. Re-test the Brake System
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Start the vehicle and press the brake pedal several times to ensure it feels firm.
  • Test drive the vehicle at low speeds to verify proper braking function.
