Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
2. Inspect and Test the Fuel Pump
  • Locate the fuel pump access panel (if available) or remove the rear seat to access the fuel pump.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
  • Use a multimeter to test the voltage at the fuel pump connector (should be around 12V when the ignition is on).
  • If there is no voltage, trace back to the fuel pump relay and check for continuity.
3. Replace the Fuel Pump (if necessary)
  • If the fuel pump is not functioning, remove the fuel pump assembly by:
    • Relieving fuel system pressure through the fuel pressure relief valve.
    • Unclipping the retaining ring and removing the fuel pump assembly from the tank.
  • Replace the old fuel pump with a new unit, ensuring all seals are replaced.
  • Reinstall the fuel pump assembly and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Check and Replace Fuses
  • Locate the fuse box and identify the fuses related to the fuel system and ignition system.
  • Remove any blown fuses and replace them with new fuses of the same amperage rating.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Attempt to start the vehicle.
  • If the vehicle starts, monitor for any abnormal sounds or warning lights.
