Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, timing belt tool kit, screwdriver set, OBD-II scanner, jack and jack stands.
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface. Disconnect the battery before working on the electrical system.
2. Remove Components
  • Remove the engine cover by unscrewing the fasteners.
  • Detach any components obstructing access to the timing belt, such as the alternator, power steering pump, or air conditioning compressor, depending on the model configuration.
  • Remove the front engine splash shield.
3. Access Timing Belt
  • Use a jack to support the engine if necessary.
  • Remove the crankshaft pulley by loosening the center bolt and using a puller if required.
  • Remove the timing belt covers (front and rear) by unscrewing the fasteners.
4. Timing Belt Removal
  • Align the timing marks on the camshaft and crankshaft to the TDC (Top Dead Center) position.
  • Loosen the timing belt tensioner and remove the timing belt carefully, ensuring that the camshaft and crankshaft do not rotate during removal.
5. Install New Timing Belt
  • Install the new timing belt by aligning it with the timing marks, ensuring that it is properly tensioned.
  • Reinstall the timing belt tensioner and ensure it is properly torqued to specification.
  • Replace the timing belt covers and any other components that were removed.
6. Reassemble Components
  • Reattach the crankshaft pulley and torque the center bolt to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Reinstall the engine cover and other components that were removed earlier.
  • Reconnect the battery.
