Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Jack and jack stands
    • Socket set and wrenches
    • Strut spring compressor
    • Torque wrench
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use the jack to raise the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheels to access the struts.
3. Remove the Old Struts
  • Sub-steps:
    • Disconnect the sway bar link from the strut (if applicable).
    • Remove the lower strut bolts using the socket set.
    • Remove the top strut mount bolts from the engine bay or under the dashboard.
    • Carefully remove the strut from the vehicle.
4. Install New Struts
  • Sub-steps:
    • Compress the new struts using a strut spring compressor if they are equipped with a spring.
    • Position the new strut into place in the strut tower.
    • Secure the top strut mount bolts first, tightening them to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
    • Install and tighten the lower strut bolts.
    • Reconnect the sway bar link.
5. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheels and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Carefully lower the vehicle from the jack stands.
  • Use the torque wrench to tighten lug nuts to the specified torque.
