Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  1. Remove the air intake duct connecting to the throttle body using the appropriate socket.
  2. Use throttle body cleaner and a soft brush to clean the throttle body thoroughly.
  3. Inspect the throttle plate for free movement and ensure it opens and closes without obstruction.
  4. Reinstall the air intake duct and secure it with the bolts.
3. Replace Throttle Position Sensor (if defective)
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  2. Locate the throttle position sensor attached to the throttle body.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the TPS.
  4. Remove the mounting screws and take out the faulty TPS.
  5. Install the new TPS by reversing the removal steps. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  6. Reconnect the electrical connector and the negative battery terminal.
4. Test Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Locate the accelerator pedal position sensor, usually found at the base of the accelerator pedal assembly.
  3. Check the wiring for any signs of damage or corrosion.
  4. If necessary, replace the accelerator pedal position sensor by unscrewing it and installing a new one.
  5. Reconnect all connectors and the negative battery terminal.
