Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface, and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
2. Replace Thermostat (if faulty)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, Torque wrench, Pliers, Gasket scraper, New thermostat, Gasket sealant.
  • Instructions:
    1. Drain the coolant from the radiator by opening the drain plug.
    2. Remove the thermostat housing by unscrewing the bolts using a socket.
    3. Take out the old thermostat and clean the mating surfaces with a gasket scraper.
    4. Install the new thermostat in the correct orientation and apply gasket sealant.
    5. Reattach the thermostat housing and torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
3. Repair or Replace Water Pump (if faulty)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, Torque wrench, Screwdrivers, New water pump, Gasket sealant.
  • Instructions:
    1. Drain the coolant from the system (if not already done).
    2. Remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner.
    3. Unscrew and detach the water pump from the engine block.
    4. Clean the mounting surface and install the new water pump with gasket sealant.
    5. Reattach the drive belt and ensure proper tension.
4. Repair or Replace Radiator or Hoses (if damaged)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, Pliers, Radiator hose clamp tool, New radiator or hoses.
  • Instructions:
    1. Drain the coolant from the radiator.
    2. Disconnect the upper and lower hoses from the radiator.
