Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Door Panel
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry off any plastic covers hiding screws.
  • Remove screws securing the door panel, typically located near the handle and at the bottom of the panel.
  • Gently pull the door panel away from the door frame, releasing the retaining clips.
3. Inspect and Replace Door Lock Actuator
  • Locate the door lock actuator attached to the interior side of the door.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the actuator.
  • Remove any screws or clips holding the actuator in place and take it out.
  • Install the new actuator by reversing the removal process:
    • Place the new actuator in position.
    • Secure it with screws/clips and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Reassemble Door Panel
  • Position the door panel back onto the door frame, ensuring all clips align correctly.
  • Secure the door panel with screws.
  • Replace any plastic covers that were removed.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Test the power locks using the switch and key fob to ensure functionality.
