Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Replace Fuel Pump
  1. Drain Fuel Tank:
    • Use a siphon pump to remove fuel from the tank to minimize spillage.
  2. Remove Fuel Tank:
    • Support the tank with a jack and remove the straps using a socket set.
    • Carefully lower the tank and disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connections.
  3. Access Fuel Pump Assembly:
    • Once the tank is lowered, remove the retaining ring that holds the fuel pump assembly in place.
    • Lift the assembly out of the tank and disconnect any remaining electrical connections.
  4. Install New Fuel Pump:
    • Install the new fuel pump into the assembly in reverse order of removal.
    • Ensure all seals and gaskets are properly placed to prevent leaks.
  5. Reassemble Fuel Tank:
    • Reconnect the electrical connections and fuel lines.
    • Position the tank back in place and secure with the original straps.
  6. Reconnect Battery:
    • Reattach the negative battery terminal and ensure all connections are tight.
