Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay.
2. Remove Fuel Injectors
  • Tools Required: Fuel line disconnect tool, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each fuel injector.
  • Use the fuel line disconnect tool to remove the fuel lines from the injectors.
  • Unbolt the fuel rail from the intake manifold.
  • Gently pull the fuel rail and injectors out of the engine.
3. Inspect and Replace
  • Inspect the old injectors for wear and damage.
  • If replacement is necessary, install new fuel injectors by lubricating the O-rings with a small amount of clean engine oil.
  • Position the injectors in the fuel rail and press them into place.
  • Reattach the fuel rail to the intake manifold, torquing bolts to manufacturer specifications (typically around 15-20 ft-lbs).
4. Reconnect Components
  • Reconnect the fuel lines securely to the injectors.
  • Reattach the electrical connectors to the injectors.
  • Reinstall any engine covers removed during disassembly.
  • Reconnect the fuel pump relay and the negative battery terminal.
5. Test the System
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting to build fuel pressure.
  • Check for leaks around the injectors and fuel lines.
  • Start the engine and observe for smooth operation.
