Skoda Octavia NFL (2020-Present) heater only blowing cold air what’s wrong

Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather all necessary tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
• Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.

2. Check Coolant Level

• Open the hood and locate the coolant reservoir.
• If the coolant level is low, top it up with the appropriate coolant mixture (50/50 distilled water and antifreeze).
• Reconnect the battery.

3. Inspect and Replace Thermostat (if necessary)

• Drain the coolant from the radiator.
• Remove the thermostat housing using a socket set.
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver
• Replace the thermostat with a new one.
• Reinstall the thermostat housing and refill the cooling system with coolant.
• Torque the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (typically 10-15 Nm).

4. Flush Heater Core

• Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses from the heater core.
• Use a garden hose to flush the heater core in both directions until clear water flows out.
• Reconnect the hoses and ensure there are no leaks.

5. Inspect/Replace Blend Door Actuator

• Remove the dashboard panel to access the blend door actuator.
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver, trim removal tool
• Check the actuator for proper function. If malfunctioning, replace it with a new part.
• Reassemble the dashboard.

6. Test the Heating System

• Refill the coolant system if drained.
• Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
• Check for warm air coming from the heater vents.
