Skoda Octavia NFL (2020-Present) fuel gauge is stuck on empty what should I do

Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather necessary tools and parts.
• Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent electrical shorts.

2. Access Fuel Level Sensor

• Remove the rear seat or access panel to locate the fuel pump assembly.
• Disconnect any wiring harnesses connected to the fuel pump.

3. Inspect and Test Fuel Level Sensor

• Remove the fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank by unscrewing the retaining ring.
• Carefully lift out the assembly, ensuring not to damage the O-ring.
• Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the fuel level sensor terminals.
  • Expected resistance: 0 to 90 ohms when the float moves from empty to full.

4. Replace Fuel Level Sensor (if faulty)

• If the sensor is found to be faulty, replace it with a new unit.
• Reassemble the fuel pump assembly into the tank, ensuring the O-ring is seated properly.
