my Skoda Octavia’s gears are slipping, how can I fix this?

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts.
• Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

• Tools Required: Funnel, transmission fluid as per manufacturer specifications.
• Remove the transmission dipstick.
• Wipe it clean and reinsert it to check the fluid level.
• If low, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid using a funnel until it reaches the full mark.

3. Replace Transmission Fluid (if contaminated)

• Tools Required: Socket set, drain pan, new transmission filter, and transmission fluid.
• Locate the transmission drain plug and place a drain pan beneath it.
• Remove the drain plug and allow the old fluid to fully drain.
• Replace the drain plug and tighten to manufacturer specifications.
• Remove the transmission filter and replace it with a new one.
• Refill the transmission with new fluid through the dipstick tube.
