my Skoda Octavia NFL (2020-Present) is leaking transmission fluid

Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather necessary tools and parts. Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
• Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, fluid catch pan, rags, UV dye (if needed).

2. Drain and Remove Transmission Fluid

• Place the fluid catch pan under the transmission pan.
• Remove the drain plug (if equipped) or unbolt the transmission pan to drain the fluid completely.
• Allow the fluid to drain into the pan and then replace the drain plug.

3. Remove Transmission Pan

• Unbolt the transmission pan using the socket set; ensure to keep track of the bolts.
• Carefully lower the pan and inspect the gasket for wear or damage.
• Clean the mating surfaces on the transmission and the pan with a suitable cleaner to remove any old gasket material.

4. Replace Gasket and Reinstall Pan

• Place a new transmission pan gasket onto the transmission pan.
• Reinstall the transmission pan and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 10-12 Nm, but consult repair manual for exact value).
• Ensure the pan is seated properly to avoid leaks.
