1. Preparation

• Gather necessary tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged.
• Wear safety gloves and goggles.

2. Remove Wheel

• Use a jack to lift the vehicle and support it with jack stands.
• Remove the lug nuts with a socket wrench and take off the wheel.

3. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads

• Inspect: Check the thickness of the brake pads. If they are below the minimum thickness, replace them.
• Replace:
  • Remove the caliper bolts using a socket set.
  • Slide the caliper off the rotor and support it without stressing the brake line.
  • Remove the old brake pads from the caliper bracket.
  • Install new brake pads, ensuring they are seated properly in the caliper bracket.

4. Inspect and Resurface/Replace Rotors

• Inspect: Check the rotors for warping or excessive wear.
• Resurface/Replace:
  • If the rotor is warped, use a rotor measuring tool to check the thickness. Resurface if within specifications, otherwise replace.
  • To replace, remove the rotor retaining screws (if applicable) and pull the rotor off the hub. Install the new rotor and secure it.

5. Reassemble Components

• Reinstall the brake caliper over the new pads.
• Torque the caliper bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 25-30 Nm).
• Reattach the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
