Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Alignment machine, torque wrench, socket set, jack and jack stands, wheel chocks.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and ensure that the steering wheel is in the straight-ahead position.
  • Place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels and engage the parking brake.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Using a jack, lift the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheels using a socket set.
3. Adjust Toe Angle
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, alignment machine.
  • Locate the tie rod ends on both sides of the vehicle.
  • Using the alignment machine, check the toe angle.
  • To adjust, loosen the tie rod end lock nuts with a wrench.
  • Turn the tie rod to achieve the desired toe specification (usually specified in degrees).
  • Once adjusted, re-tighten the lock nuts to the manufacturer-specified torque.
4. Adjust Camber and Caster (if applicable)
  • Tools Required: Alignment machine, socket set.
  • Check camber and caster angles using the alignment machine.
  • If adjustments are necessary, locate the upper control arm bolts.
  • Loosen the bolts and reposition the control arm to achieve the correct camber and caster settings.
  • Re-tighten the bolts to the manufacturer-specified torque.
5. Recheck Alignment
  • Reinstall the front wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Perform a final check of alignment angles using the alignment machine to confirm that all angles are within specifications.
6. Road Test
  • Conduct a test drive to ensure the vehicle handles properly and the steering wheel is centered.
