Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: a flathead screwdriver (if needed for battery replacement), a new key fob battery (typically CR2032 for Renault key fobs).
  • Ensure that the vehicle is parked in a safe location, and all doors are closed.
2. Replace the Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing. Be careful not to damage the plastic.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:

    • Take note of the orientation of the old battery (positive side facing up) and carefully remove it.
  3. Insert the New Battery:

    • Place the new battery in the same orientation as the old one, ensuring it is seated properly.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Snap the two halves of the key fob back together until you hear a click.
3. Reset the Key Fob
  1. Enter the Vehicle:

    • Sit inside the vehicle with the key fob.
  2. Turn on the Ignition:

    • Without starting the engine, turn the ignition to the "ON" position (usually one click before starting).
  3. Press the Lock and Unlock Buttons:

    • Press and hold the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the key fob simultaneously for about 5 seconds.
  4. Test the Key Fob:

    • Turn off the ignition and exit the vehicle. Test the key fob by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to ensure it is functioning properly.
