Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, oil pressure gauge, OBD-II scanner, oil catch pan, clean rags.
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before starting work on the electrical components.
2. Check and Top Up Engine Oil
  • Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean.
  • Reinsert the dipstick and remove it again to check the oil level.
  • If the oil level is low, add the correct type of engine oil as specified in the owner's manual.
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Recheck the oil level and top off if necessary.
3. Inspect and Replace Oil Filter
  • Using a socket set, remove the oil filter.
  • Inspect the old oil filter for any signs of debris or damage.
  • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter to ensure a good seal.
  • Install the new oil filter hand-tighten and then use a wrench to tighten it according to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Replace Engine Oil
  • Place an oil catch pan under the oil pan and remove the drain plug using a socket set.
  • Allow the old oil to completely drain out into the pan.
  • Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque.
  • Pour the correct amount of new oil into the engine through the oil fill cap.
5. Test Oil Pressure
  • Connect a mechanical oil pressure gauge to the oil pressure sending unit.
  • Start the engine and monitor the oil pressure gauge.
  • If the pressure is low, it may indicate a faulty oil pump or internal engine issues.
6. Reassemble and Check
  • Reinstall any components removed during the procedure.
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Start the engine and check for leaks around the oil filter and drain plug.
