Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, small screwdriver, and a clean cloth.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and in a safe environment.
2. Verify Battery Installation
  • Open the key fob using a small screwdriver to access the battery compartment.
  • Remove the new battery and check for proper orientation of the battery terminals.
  • Reinsert the battery ensuring it is seated correctly.
3. Check and Replace Battery
  • Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the new battery; it should read around 3 volts.
  • If the battery is low, replace it with another new battery of the same type.
4. Inspect Key Fob
  • Examine the key fob for any physical damage or corrosion in the battery compartment.
  • Clean the contacts with a clean cloth or a small amount of isopropyl alcohol if necessary.
5. Synchronize Key Fob
  • Sit in the driver's seat with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine) and turn it back to OFF.
  • Repeat this process four times, ending in the ON position. The vehicle should signal that it's in programming mode.
  • Press any button on the key fob within 30 seconds. The vehicle should respond with a lock/unlock signal.
  • Turn the ignition back to OFF to finalize the synchronization.
