Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: a new key fob battery (CR2032 or as specified), a small flat-head screwdriver, and a clean workspace.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe environment with the ignition off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Step 1: Open the key fob by inserting the small flat-head screwdriver into the seam and gently prying it apart.
  • Step 2: Remove the old battery and note its orientation.
  • Step 3: Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  • Step 4: Snap the key fob halves back together until securely closed.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  • Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "Off" five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 3: Leave the key in the "On" position on the fifth turn. The dashboard will indicate that the vehicle is in programming mode.
  • Step 4: Press any button on the key fob for one second. The vehicle will confirm successful programming by locking and unlocking the doors.
