Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver, multimeter, new key fob battery (CR2032), and OBD-II scanner (if reprogramming is needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit area.
2. Battery Check
  • Use the multimeter to check the voltage of the key fob battery.
    • If the voltage is below 3.0V, proceed to replace the battery.
3. Key Fob Battery Replacement
  • Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob case.
  • Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly.
  • Insert the new battery (CR2032) with the positive (+) side facing up.
  • Reassemble the key fob case, ensuring it clicks back into place securely.
4. Reprogramming the Key Fob
  • Sit in the driver's seat with the key fob.
  • Insert the ignition key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  • Press and hold the "Unlock" button on the key fob for approximately 10 seconds.
  • While holding the "Unlock" button, press the "Panic" button once, then release both buttons.
  • Turn the key back to the "OFF" position and remove it from the ignition.
  • Test the key fob to ensure it functions properly.
5. Inspect the Keyless Entry Receiver (if necessary)
  • If the key fob still does not work, inspect the keyless entry receiver located under the dashboard.
  • Check for loose connections or visible damage.
  • If issues are found, the receiver may need replacement.
