Solution
1. Preparation
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, and screwdrivers.
2. Remove the Fuel Tank
  • Safely lift the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Disconnect the fuel pump relay and fuel lines from the fuel tank.
  • Remove the straps holding the fuel tank in place using a socket set.
  • Carefully lower the tank and remove it from under the vehicle.
3. Inspect and Replace Fuel Level Sender
  • Locate the fuel level sender unit inside the fuel tank.
  • Remove the retaining ring or screws securing the sender using a screwdriver or socket set.
  • Lift the sender out of the tank and inspect it for damage or corrosion.
  • If faulty, replace the fuel level sender with a new unit.
    • Ensure the float arm moves freely and does not have any obstructions.
4. Reinstall the Fuel Tank
  • Position the fuel tank back into place and secure it with the straps.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and the fuel pump relay.
  • Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the vehicle and verify that the fuel gauge operates correctly by checking the reading against the actual fuel level.
