Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery if necessary for electrical safety.
2. Remove Old Shocks
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrench set, jack stands
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel to access the shock absorber (if needed).
  • Unbolt the top and bottom of each shock absorber using the appropriate socket and wrench.
  • Carefully remove the shock from its mount.
3. Install New Shocks
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench
  • Position the new shock absorber in place, aligning it with the mounting holes.
  • Bolt the shock into place, tightening the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque settings (refer to your service manual for exact torque values).
  • Reattach the wheel and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
4. Final Check
  • Inspect the installation to ensure everything is secure and properly aligned.
  • Reconnect the battery if it was disconnected.
  • Test the suspension by performing a bounce test again to ensure proper function.
