Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver set, throttle body cleaner, clean cloths, safety goggles, gloves.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool to avoid burns.
2. Remove Air Intake Hose
  • Locate the air intake hose connected to the throttle body.
  • Use a screwdriver or socket to loosen the clamps securing the hose.
  • Gently pull the hose off the throttle body, taking care not to damage it.
3. Remove Throttle Body
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body by pressing the release tab and gently pulling it out.
  • Remove the bolts securing the throttle body using a socket wrench.
  • Carefully lift the throttle body off the intake manifold, ensuring the gasket does not get damaged.
4. Clean Throttle Body
  • Spray throttle body cleaner generously onto a clean cloth.
  • Wipe the inside of the throttle body, especially the throttle plate and surrounding areas, until clean.
  • For stubborn deposits, spray cleaner directly onto the throttle body and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping clean.
5. Reassemble
  • Place a new gasket on the intake manifold if required.
  • Position the throttle body back onto the manifold and secure it with bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle body.
  • Reattach the air intake hose and secure it with clamps.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal securely.
