Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical issues.
  • Gather tools and replacement parts as needed.
2. Throttle Body Removal
  • Remove the intake air duct by loosening the clamps and disconnecting any sensors attached.
  • Unbolt the throttle body from the intake manifold using a socket set (typically 8mm or 10mm bolts).
  • Carefully disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body.
3. Throttle Body Inspection and Cleaning
  • Inspect the throttle body for carbon buildup and damage.
  • Clean the throttle body using a throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth or brush. Ensure the butterfly valve moves freely.
  • If the throttle body is damaged, replace it with a new unit.
4. Reinstallation
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle body.
  • Position the throttle body back onto the intake manifold and secure it with the bolts (torque to manufacturer specifications, generally around 89-106 inch-lbs).
  • Reattach the intake air duct and ensure all clamps and sensors are securely connected.
5. Throttle Position Sensor Calibration
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine for about 10 seconds, then turn it off.
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to allow the throttle body to calibrate.
