Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical hazards.
2. Check and Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant (R-1234yf), safety goggles, gloves.
  • Remove the low-pressure service port cap.
  • Connect the low-pressure side of the manifold gauge set to the service port.
  • Start the engine and turn on the AC to the maximum setting.
  • Check the pressure on the gauge; if low, add refrigerant until the correct pressure is achieved (refer to vehicle specifications).
  • Disconnect the manifold gauge set and replace the service port cap.
3. Inspect and Replace AC Compressor
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, AC compressor removal tool, refrigerant recovery machine.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the AC compressor.
  • Remove the serpentine belt from the AC compressor pulley.
  • Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the compressor (ensure refrigerant is recovered appropriately).
  • Remove the mounting bolts and carefully take out the AC compressor.
  • Install the new AC compressor, tightening bolts to the manufacturer-specified torque values.
  • Reconnect refrigerant lines and electrical connector.
4. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: None.
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel (usually behind the glove box).
  • Open the access panel and remove the old cabin air filter.
  • Install the new cabin air filter in the correct orientation.
  • Close the access panel.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the battery and start the engine.
  • Set the AC to maximum cooling and check if cold air is blowing from the vents.
