Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather required tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting work.
2. Clean Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, socket set
  • Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto the throttle plate and inside the throttle body.
  • Use a soft cloth to clean residues from the throttle plate and surrounding areas.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
3. Inspect and Test Sensors
  • Tools Required: Multimeter
  • Disconnect the throttle position sensor (TPS) connector.
  • Set the multimeter to measure voltage and connect the probes to the TPS terminals.
  • Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine) and check the voltage. It should vary smoothly as the throttle is opened and closed.
  • If the voltage is outside the specified range, replace the TPS.
4. Replace Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Locate the accelerator pedal position sensor and remove the electrical connector.
  • Unscrew and detach the sensor from its mounting location.
  • Install the new APP sensor in the reverse order, ensuring it’s mounted securely.
5. Reconnect Battery and Reset System
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle for a few minutes.
  • Perform a throttle position reset procedure if applicable (consult the vehicle's service manual).
