Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
  • Allow the engine to cool down completely.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift and remove the engine cover from the engine bay.
3. Remove Ignition Coil
  • Locate the faulty ignition coil based on diagnostic results.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling upwards.
  • Remove the bolt securing the ignition coil using a socket wrench.
  • Gently pull the ignition coil straight out of the spark plug hole. If it is difficult to remove, use a twisting motion to free it.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil to ensure proper sealing.
  • Insert the new ignition coil into the spark plug hole and push it down until it is fully seated.
  • Reinstall the bolt that secures the ignition coil and tighten it to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 7 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the ignition coil until it clicks into place.
5. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back onto the engine.
  • Secure it with the bolts removed during the initial step, tightening them to the specified torque.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
