Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Torx socket set
    • Cleaning brush or cloth
    • Throttle body cleaner
    • Safety goggles
    • Gloves
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the battery before starting to prevent electrical issues.
    • Allow the engine to cool before working on the throttle body.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Locate and remove the screws or bolts securing the engine cover using the Torx socket.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Disconnect Throttle Body
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body by pressing the release tab and pulling it away.
  • Loosen the hose clamps securing the intake duct to the throttle body using a flathead screwdriver, then remove the duct.
  • Remove the bolts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold using the Torx socket.
4. Clean Throttle Body
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a cloth or directly into the throttle body opening (do not spray into the air intake).
  • Use the cleaning brush to gently scrub the inside of the throttle body to remove carbon buildup.
  • Wipe clean with a lint-free cloth to ensure that no residue remains.
5. Reinstall Throttle Body
  • Position the throttle body back onto the intake manifold and secure it using the previously removed bolts. Tighten to the manufacturer’s torque specifications (typically around 8-10 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle body.
  • Reattach the intake duct and secure it with the hose clamps.
6. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the screws or bolts.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
