Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, isopropyl alcohol, cotton swabs.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location with the ignition off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Using a small flathead screwdriver, carefully pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery, noting the orientation of the positive (+) and negative (-) sides.
  3. Insert a new battery (typically CR2032) in the same orientation.
  4. Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Clean Key Fob Contacts
  1. Open the key fob as described in Step 2.
  2. Dampen a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol.
  3. Gently clean the metal contacts inside the key fob and the corresponding contacts on the circuit board.
  4. Allow the contacts to dry completely before reassembling.
4. Reprogram Key Fob
  1. Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (not starting the engine).
  3. Press and hold the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition to the "OFF" position and remove the key.
  5. Test the key fob functions to ensure successful reprogramming.
