Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, socket set, torque wrench, strut spring compressor, wrench set, screwdriver set, and a pry bar.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface, and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle, depending on which struts are being replaced.
  • Secure the vehicle on jack stands to ensure stability while working.
3. Remove Wheel
  • Use a socket set to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel to access the strut.
4. Disconnect Strut Assembly
  • Front Struts:
    • Remove the brake line bracket and any other obstructing components.
    • Unbolt the top strut mount inside the engine bay using the appropriate socket.
    • Remove the lower strut bolts connecting the strut to the control arm.
  • Rear Struts:
    • Unbolt the lower strut mounting bolts.
    • Remove the top strut mount from the trunk area.
5. Compress the Spring
  • Attach the strut spring compressor to the strut coil spring.
  • Compress the spring carefully until there is no tension on the strut.
6. Replace the Strut
  • Remove the old strut from the spring and replace it with the new strut.
  • Reassemble the strut spring and ensure it is seated correctly.
  • Torque all bolts according to the manufacturer's specifications.
7. Reinstall Components
  • Reattach the strut assembly back to the vehicle.
  • Reconnect any removed components, including the brake line bracket.
  • Reinstall the wheel and torque the lug nuts to specification.
8. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
