Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set (10mm and 12mm), ratchet, spark plug socket, torque wrench, extension bar, anti-seize compound, dielectric grease.
  • Parts Required: New spark plugs (check owner's manual for specifications).
  • Ensure the engine is cool to avoid burns.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Locate the engine cover and remove any bolts or clips securing it.
  • Gently lift off the cover and set it aside.
3. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Locate the ignition coil on top of the spark plug.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the clip and pulling it out.
  • Remove the ignition coil bolt using a 10mm socket and lift the coil out.
  • Use a spark plug socket to carefully unscrew and remove the old spark plug.
4. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (avoid getting it on the electrode).
  • Hand-tighten the new spark plug into the cylinder head.
  • Use a torque wrench to tighten the spark plug to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 13 lb-ft but check the manual for exact specifications).
5. Reinstall Ignition Coils and Engine Cover
  • Insert the ignition coil back into place and secure it with the bolt.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the ignition coil.
  • Repeat the process for all spark plugs.
  • Finally, place the engine cover back on and secure it with bolts or clips.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Ensure all tools are cleared from the engine bay before starting the vehicle.
